Get your head around Cybergirl Nicolette Novak, a sapient wit from Los Angeles, California. She’s German, Hungarian and Lithuanian, natural, with dark brown hair and amber eyes. She’s a personal trainer and model with a mind of her own, and a very unusual talent – she’s an experienced fire eater. “I grew up around Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,” she says. “It was a normal middle-class environment, like Stepford. Nothing unexpected, and I didn’t really fit in. I moved to Los Angeles when I graduated from high school, and now I really feel like I’m home.” A self-described “headbanger”, Nicolette loves heavy metal, horror movies and true crime novels. When she’s not working, she’s hanging with her friends – having long conversations over dinner at a new restaurant, going to art galleries, and – for a little fun – a karaoke bar. “I have a good time doing almost anything,” she says, “but doing it with people I love is the best.” Nicolette started modeling to pay for her graduate school tuition – mostly catalogue and print – and to her surprise, she loved it. “Modeling has been a great adventure,” she says. “Last year, I shot for a line of Halloween costumes, and I was in a Rob Zombie video. He’s one of my favorites.” So how does Nicolette feel about being a Cybergirl? “Playboy is a cultural icon,” she says. “It’s been one of the most highly regarded American publications since the fifties. Hugh Hefner did a lot of philanthropic work with Playboy, and I feel that being a part of it is an honor and a privilege.” It’s her first time posing nude, but we’re sure that Nicolette will pass the test. “I’m a little nervous,” she admits, “but I trust that I’ll be subject to Playboy’s high standards.” Nicolette has high standards, too. “I’m attracted to a man that is motivated and self-actualized,” she says. “And I don’t like traditional gender roles. Chivalry casts women in a ‘damsel in distress’ role – a position of inferiority. I don’t like to be called ‘baby’, and I don’t like flowers – but anything in bed is fair game.” When she's in a relationship, she plays by the rules, win or lose. "Being single has its perks," she says, "but I wouldn't trade a good relationship for anything."
